SAETERO: To apply to the repertoire or compilation of saetas, also refers to the interpreter of saetas.

SAL, SALERO: A combination of charm, humor and wit. It is not only applied to the way of interpreting flamenco, but to all the aspects of life.

SALÍA: Intonation of a song or part of a song that is sung and corresponds with a fragment of the 1st third or all, and that is sung after tuning. Of difficult execution, it signifies the challenge that the singer faces before beginning the song. In reference to the dance, a set of steps that the flamenco dancer performs to finish with a light rhythm, therefore producing a more dynamic effect.

SENTIR: In reference to flamenco song, listening with maximum attention, perceiving its values, or introducing emotion to the interpretation of the song. Translates to ‘feeling’.

SIGUIRIYERO: To apply to the repertoire or compilation of siguiriyas, also refers to the interpreter that masters the songs por siguiriyas or is an accomplished specialist in this style.

SOLEAERO: To apply to the repertoire or compilation of soleares, also refers to the interpreter that masters the songs por soleá or is an accomplished specialist in this style.

SON: In the language of flamenco art, beats and accompaniments of song or dance by means of palmas and other procedures, (pallileos, nudillos, golpes, etc.)

SONANTA: Guitar, especially the flamenco guitar.
