HACER SON: Accompanying a song or a dance with palmas (clapping), golpes (hits or taps) or pitos (finger-snapping); when referring to the song it refers to arranging and marking the proper rhythm of each style.

HEMBRA: Term for the castanet that is positioned in the right hand.

HERIR: To produce when singing, in a given moment, a feeling felt in the soul or any soul-like faculty of the listener that causes him or her to become highly moved or exalted. Also to make the strings of the guitar vibrate, especially when each one is played with one finger to produce falsettos.

HONDO: Qualifying as an intense, profound feeling. In Andalusian phonetics, the ‘h’ when breathed becomes a sounded ‘j;’ jondo for hondo.
