The studio is located in the very center of Moscow city. The convenient location in the proximity of metro stations Chekhovskaya and Kitai Gorod, the professional approach and sincere desire of instructors to teach you how to dance flamenco will guarantee that mastering this art will be a pleasure. There are several groups of various levels of technical difficulty, and there are separate courses teaching footwork, rhythms, fan and shawl techniques. Alena Shulgina, the instructor and inspiration of the school, is a professional dancer from the group Sacramonte. In 2007 she took part in a Spanish-Russian project Flamenco de Granada giving concerts in various Russian cities.

Flamenco Academy Flamenqueria is the first flamenco studio in Moscow where Spanish instructors are teaching on a regular basis. Lessons are offered on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Students get acquainted with the main styles and rhythms of flamenco, learn to feel the music, to feel every movement of their body. The studio welcomes women of 18 years old and older, without any dancing experience, but with strong desire to commit themselves to long-term serious studies. The course objective is to give you confidence in yourself and to teach you not to fear your emotions.

Olga Samoilova’s first teacher was a talented dance instructor Svetlana Savelieva. Olga now continues to perfect her skills with acknowledged Spanish instructors, such as Mercedes Ruiz, Manuel Betanzos, Mario Maya, Belen Maya, Yolanda Cortes, Antoniete, Noelia Gonzalez, Leonor Leal, La Truco etc. She regularly participates in Moscow flamenco festival and directs the festival !Viva Espana!; she was also part of dance groups Danza Mora, Al Borde, Salida del Sol etc. She gives lessons since 2005.

FlamencoCenter has based its teaching methods on those of the leading Andalusian flamenco schools, offering lessons of flamenco dance, flamenco guitar and flamenco singing. Flamenco school De Las Llamas was created 9 years ago. Many of today’s well-known flamenco dancers who now perform and have their own dance schools are former students of De Las Llamas. Studio De Las Llamas is currently the biggest flamenco school for children. More than 100 kids of various ages are studying there. Flamenco studio for adults is another part of the school. De Las Llamas employes its own teaching methods which have been developed during the 9 years of the school’s existence and are based on the experience of Spanish teachers. Teaching methods are adopted both for children and adults. Two flamenco styles are taught – ‘flamenco puro’ and flamenco fusion (the modern style in constant development, based of flamenco techniques). A professional choreographer works in the studio. All groups regularly perform at various contests, festivals, concerts and flamenco fiestas. The school is directed by Yulia Plakhotina. Administrators are Maria Gontkovskaya (studio for children) and Anna Magirovskaya (school for adults).

The studio is directed by Maria Raid, the dancer who was part of the group Almas del Fuego (one of the first Russian “live” flamenco groups) from 2001 till 2008. Now she is part of the group La Fragua, being one of its founders. Apart from teaching flamenco dance techniques, the lessons aim at teaching the students to feel what is behind each movement and to express themselves in the language of movement and rhythm.
