VALIENTE: A term describing flamenco song or some of the thirds of the song whose deliverance requires excellent faculties of the singer. Translates to ‘brave’.

VARIACIÓN: Each of the melodic imitations of a single characteristical musical theme of a song or dance. This term is seldom used in flamenco as it is usually substituted with falsettos.

VERDIALERO: Pertaining to or relative to the Malagueña region of Los Verdiales, and on a wider range, the flamenco song and dance of the same name.

VOZ: Main and fundamental element of flamenco singing, together with the song and the music, constitute one of the most intrinsic factors. Translates to ‘voice’.

VOZ AFILLÁ: Term that is applied in the flamenco language, to a voice most hoarse, deep and cracked.

VOZ CANTAORA: Term applied to an excellent female singer, for flexibility and wit in interpreting flamenco songs.

VOZ DE FALSETE: In the language of flamenco song it refers to a voice faked to replace the deficiency of the natural or adapted voice for the interpretation of the song.

VOZ LAÍNA: In the flamenco language it refers to an acute and vibrant voice.

VOZ NATURAL: In flamenco language it refers to the exemption of embellishments when interpreting the song.

VOZ RAJÁ: Voice that is sharpened and screeching.

VOZ REDONDA: In the language of flamenco song it refers to the most harmonious and at the same time, manly of voices.
